Michelle Garcia - Secondary History

Favorite Verse: (2 Timothy 1:7) “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline” and (Psalm118:14) “The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation”

Graduated with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Music from Westfield State College. Michelle worked as a tutor for after-school programs and a substitute teacher in the Chicopee and Springfield Public Schools. Following a long term substitute position in High School Music, Michelle taught Middle School Music in Springfield for 2 years. She also is a licensed esthetician and works at a Day Spa in Feeding Hills.

Michelle is the Music Ministry Director at her church in Springfield, where she has led worship for over 5 years. She loves playing the keyboard and singing for the Lord. Since she was 12 years old, Michelle has also had a passion for missions work. She has traveled to England, Mexico and Colombia on short-term missions trips and is waiting on God's timing to return to Colombia with her husband for an extended period of time. Michelle likes to travel (especially to places with warmer climates) and is especially interested in learning and experiencing the art, music, and dance of other cultures.

Michelle is married to Francisco, her best friend and husband of 3 years, and enjoys their times of walking in the park, canoeing, practicing Spanish, and laughing together.
