Favorite Verse: (Ephesians 2:8) "For it is by grace you have been saved
through faith- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."
Mr. Morganelli's love for teaching science was shared with us from the
school's first day in the fall of 2005. His philosophy concerning science
education is that of his middle school science teachers: turning bookwork
into hands-on fun and excitement! He is also an adjunct professor at Holyoke
Community College and teaches an introductory course in Meteorology, some of
which he incorporates into the 8th grade science class! Since the age of 5,
Nick wanted to be a broadcast meteorologist and he realized that dream
graduating from Lyndon State College, VT with a B.S. Degree in Meteorology
in 1991. A member of the American Meteorological Society, Nick holds their
AMS Seal of approval for broadcasting excellence.
His broadcasting career has taken him to every state in New England except
Rhode Island. He was the chief meteorologist on local WWLP until 2002 and
while there, visited countless schools with his weather presentations.
Nick's strong Christian beliefs and desire for time flexibility to be home
with his family, led him to leave the broadcasting business full time and
pursue self employment. He is currently free-lancing for NECN-TV, Boston. He
also owns an online franchise marketing business. Working with a team of
business associates, Nick helps others develop their own franchises because
he knows the power of business ownership and what it can to help parents
develop more time with their children and provide financially for their
future. Nick has also been serving on the Board of Directors for the
American Lung Association of Massachusetts since 2000.
Nick and his wife Jeanne, married in 1998, have 4 children, and are
committed to home-schooling. Nick and Jeanne believe strongly that they have
been blessed because of their investment in their children's education. They
have chosen home-schooling because it seemed natural for them and they could
incorporate their Catholic-Christian values in their children's education.
They reside in Westfield and are remodeling their 90 yr. old colonial home.
Nick's favorites? Color is aqua blue, animal is the humpback whale, and food
is fruit salad, home-made pesto-sun dried tomato pizza, Breyer's chocolate chip
ice cream, a garden tomato; Well, he's half Italian, and he can't pick just
one food of course. He loves hot air balloons, roller coasters, the beach,
and all of Paul's letters, especially Ephesians. What's Nick's take on
global warming? You'll have to ask him yourself. There's not enough space
here to talk about it.
'The Morganelli 6', members of St. Peter & St. Casimir Parish in Westfield,
are active in the Family Life Commission and Children's Ministry. Nick also
served as Chair of the Pastoral Council from '04-'07. A kid at heart, Nick
says this about the youngest of our community: "We believe youth have an
incredible potential to glorify God in dynamic ways". This is just one
reason Nick teaches with us. Since 1986, Nick, and now Jeanne too, dedicate
a week in August each year bringing youth to a personal relationship with
our Savior by staffing a high school camping retreat for 250 high-schoolers.
He was a camper when the program began in 1984.
If you ask Nick why this school is so vital, and such a community and
personal blessing, he'd say: "Parental rights continue to be compromised as
children become 'educated' in areas that should be the responsibility of
parents. As Christians, we are doing something pro-active and positive to
confront this. We are raising an incredible young army of Christian soldiers
by focusing on solid education with strong Christian moral and family
values. God will amaze us with a harvest that will come from the seeds we
plant today through Community Christian School and I am humbled to be called
to His purpose in this way"
