Welcome to Community Christian School

Bob Cree It has been a fantastic journey riding on the coattails of Divine Providence. At the end of the 2007/2008 school year we found ourselves in need of a new home. Faithfully we dug in and prayed like we never have before. Many things occurred over the summer that gave clear indication that God’s hand was upon us. Many resources came our way through a variety of circumstances and God blessed us with some amazing new faculty and staff. Still, we didn’t have a building. Then, in truly the eleventh hour (less than a month away from the start of our fall semester) God gifted us with a befitting building in a resourceful place.

Thirty-nine South Broad Street fell into our laps on a night of crying and pleading with God. It more than meets our needs and has room to grow. Our new home came with room for every class; office space for all our staff; two great rooms that accommodate larger gatherings; a cafeteria; enough bathrooms for students and faculty; parking for the masses; a set of flagpoles; and much, much, more. All that said, as we moved in we found ourselves with an empty shell of a building, with musty air to breath, and walls in need of paint and some quick renovating for building and fire compliance.

That is when the Church stepped in. In just three short weeks we furnished, painted, renovated, cleaned and transformed an old office building into a school. Other schools and churches donated desks and chairs, computers, audio-visual equipment, drama sets, chalk boards, art and science supplies, etc… We received microwaves, donations for a new refrigerator, paint, carpet cleaning, plumbing, electrical, a fire door, everything including (you guessed it) a kitchen sink.

It has been the most humbling moment in my life to see so many people band together for such a time as this. Thank all of you for your prayers, gifts, and hard work.

Community is in our name. For it to be fully realized, church, school, and home need to work in unison and support one another. From the bottom of my heart, on behalf of the board and everyone at Community Christian School, thank you for being the “Body of Christ” in action.
