Mrs. Andrea Thee
Secondary Math, Chemistry, and Physics
Professional Biography
I grew up in Minnesota and attended public schools for my elementary and secondary education. My aptitude for math became apparent at a young age, and my appreciation for the subject grew throughout my years of schooling. A few influential teachers impacted me and my decision to become a teacher. I began college as a chemistry education major, but switched to math education after realizing I enjoyed math a little more than science. I graduated summa cum laude from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, with a BS in mathematics education and a minor in chemistry.
A few years after graduating college, my family moved in New England in order for my husband to take a pastoral position at Bethany Assembly of God. I began teaching at Community Christian School in the fall of 2010. I have taught all middle and high school math courses, as well as chemistry, physics, and life science.
Personal Biography
My husband, Stephen, and I were high school sweethearts. We started dating in our junior year of high school and got married after our sophomore year of college. We have three children: Lailah, Elias, and Titus. We enjoy hiking and camping together, but we also enjoy playing a variety of challenging board games.
Educational Philosophy
Teaching at CCS has been more than simply teaching; it has meant mentoring students and directing them toward Christ. Every student has his or her own interests, strengths, and abilities, and I strive to meet individual needs as best as I can. I am grateful for the opportunities I have to invest in them both academically and spiritually as they develop their character and values.
