Michelle Leonard

Third Grade

Professional Biography
I received both my bachelor's degree and master's degree in Elementary Education from Westfield State University.  My teaching experience are in public, private, and home education.  I am currently blessed with the position of third-grade teacher at Community Christian School.  Throughout the eleven years I have spent teaching at CCS, I have partnered with families and worked alongside staff that have truly enriched my life.  Community Christian School is more than a job or ministry to me--It is family.

Personal Biography

I have had the honor of seeing the fruit that this model of education produces.  Each of my three children have attended CCS.  Being such an integral part of your child's education can have its challenges, but the blessings are so much greater.  As another one of my children nears the end of their high school years, I begin to reflect again on the role that this discipleship model of education has had in shaping who my children are today.  CCS, through its model of schooling and amazing staff, has had spiritual, relational, and academic impacts that are priceless.

Along with my three children, I have a husband whom I treasure.  He is my high school sweetheart and my rock.  Our family loves to do things outside like hike, fish, and kayak.

Educational Philosophy

As an elementary teacher, I seek to equip my students to think deeply, problem solve, and gain skills that will translate into life-long learning.   Whenever possible, I strive to bring the concepts alive by creating hands-on learning opportunities and applying them to real life.   It is my desire that my students come away from my classroom with a love of learning and most importantly a love for the Lord and His incredible creation.
